Chapter 117: Try and Say It Again (1)
Zhao Youlin glanced at Sun Fengzi and chuckled disdainfully. “There are many people inside and I couldn’t breathe, so I came out for some fresh air. It was a good thing that I did. If not, I would have missed such an intense fight. How could I have known that you had so many complaints toward third uncle, eldest aunt, oh, I should call her my mom now, and grandfather?”
“Mom? You call her so intimately. You came here in the middle of the night to eavesdrop on other people. Is that how this mother of yours taught you?”
Zhao Youlin’s eyes suddenly narrowed, and she stared at the woman who still mouthed off others when she was in the wrong. Her aura began to become slightly bloodthirsty as well.
Zhao Shunchang felt the change in the atmosphere and hurriedly extended his hand to pull Sun Fengzi back. “Fengzi, be quiet.”
However, Sun Fengzi did not take that nicely. She pushed Zhao Shunchang’s hand away and said in displeasure, “Are you going to help her or me? Shut up and stand to the side.”
Zhao Shunchang took two steps back after being pushed. He opened his mouth, but he did not say anything after all. It made Zhao Youlin completely disappointed with this henpecked third uncle.
Without Zhao Shunchang stopping her, Sun Fengzi started to say whatever she wanted. She immediately attacked Zhao Youlin. It was as if she had not yet had enough. She feigned ignorance and said, “Oh, I forgot that you never had a mother since you were a child. The mother you have right now picked you like a pet. She is not your biological mother, so of course, she wouldn’t care about you.”
After saying that, Sun Fengzi paused on purpose and looked at Zhao Youlin with a mocking smile. She said, “But Duan Yarong is wrong as well. Your mother died early, and it is unknown whether she is in hell or heaven. She couldn’t wait and took you in as her child. She even made you call her mom. Isn’t she afraid of the misfortune?”
Sun Fengzi’s words were harsh. On the one hand, it was because she had heard from Zhao Yifei that the old master gave the position of the heir to the woman in front of her not long ago, so she resented her. On the other hand, she also felt that although she did not know how Zhao Youlin suddenly got the support of the old master, she was still younger than her after all. Besides, she had left the Zhao family for so many years, so she could not really be considered as a member of the Zhao family.
Even if she went out and told other people what she said just now in a fit of rage, no one would probably believe her.
Unfortunately, even though Sun Fengzi had thought of the consequences, she never expected Zhao Youlin to not be the only person in the pavilion. Uncle Zhao and a child were also standing inside.
What she did not expect even more was that with Zhao Youlin’s current status in the hearts of the old master and Duan Yarong, they would definitely take her word over Sun Fengzi’s.
The most important thing was that Zhao Youlin was never the kind of person who liked to gossip. She preferred to teach the people she did not like a lesson on her own. For example, the person in front of her.
Zhao Youlin looked at Sun Fengzi. The woman had cursed her without changing a shade. She calmly said, “First of all, I must declare one thing. I didn’t come here on purpose to eavesdrop on your conversation. I’ve been sitting in this pavilion to look at the moon and flowers silently before you guys came. It was you guys who barged in suddenly and said ran your mouths off without much care or thought. The quarrels were so loud that every corner of the courtyard could hear it.”
When Zhao Youlin said this, she raised her head and sneered at Sun Fengzi. “I didn’t want to listen to it, but someone’s voice was simply too loud. Even if I covered my ears, I couldn’t pretend to have not heard it.”
“You…” Sun Fengzi’s expression changed, and she rushed toward Zhao Youlin. She raised her hand and was about to slap her.
Zhao Yifei, who was at the side, quickly rushed forward and hugged Sun Fengzi when he saw it. He persuaded, “Mom, don’t slap her. There are many people at the banquet. It’s hard to explain yourself to grandfather if you slap someone here.”
That was what Zhao Yifei said, but what he really thought was that it would be a pity if such a beautiful face was injured. Why he had not noticed that this cousin who was about the same age as him was so beautiful?
When Zhao Yifei stopped Sun Fengzi, Zhao Shunchang also came back to his senses. He shouted at Zhao Youlin, “Youlin, you should keep quiet as well. Just pretend that you didn’t hear my conversation with your third aunt just now.”
However, Zhao Youlin did not appreciate his persuasion. She looked askance at him and said coldly, “You should take care of your family first. Do you want to take care of me? You’re not qualified.”
Zhao Shunchang’s face darkened, and Sun Fengzi got angry as well. She shouted, “You’re indeed someone who doesn’t have a mother. To thin that Duan Yarong even wants someone like you. She must have gone crazy wanting a child.”
Zhao Youlin’s face instantly darkened as she heard Sun Fengzi mention Duan Yarong again. She said coldly, “Try and talk about my mom again.”
Sun Fengzi broke away from Zhao Yifei’s shackles and walked to Zhao Youlin. She said arrogantly, “Why can’t I talk about her if she dares to dress up trash? Duan Yarong is a hen who can’t lay eggs, so she is only worthy of raising other people’s children… ah…”
Accompanied by a crisp sound, a woman’s sorrowful scream resounded across the night sky, and it also disturbed everyone at the banquet in the front hall.
“Y-You slapped me! How dare you slap me? My parents have never laid a finger on me, but you dared to slap me.” Sun Fengzi touched her cheek. Her eyes were wide open, and she looked at Zhao Youlin in disbelief. Then, she screamed.
“Of course I would slap you. Your parents have never laid a finger on you? Haha. You are full of yourself. It’s no wonder you developed this mean personality which makes you feel that everyone in this world should accommodate you because they have never laid a finger on you.”
“You…” Sun Fengzi was livid. She was close to losing her mind. She raised her hand and was about to slap her back.
How could Zhao Youlin let her do what she wants? She moved to the side and grabbed Sun Fengzi’s wrist with her right hand. Then, she twisted her hand to her back and pulled. She directly pulled Sun Fengzi, who had her back toward her and was restrained, to her front.
Then, she got near her and said with a sneer, “Look at how you look right now. You scolded your husband and niece like a shrew and you cursed your father-in-law and sister-in-law in private. You’re more vicious than a certain legendary woman with a long tongue. Not to mention that you slap people viciously. Third aunt, you really make people suspect whether you’re a lady from an affluent family. If your parents saw you like this, I wonder if they will be ashamed for having such a daughter who doesn’t know manners, justice, shame, and respect toward people.”
“You…” Sun Fengzi struggled for a long time. But instead of breaking free from Zhao Youlin’s shackles, she only felt that the strength on her hand was getting stronger, and she felt more pain.
She bit her lips and glanced at the father and son, who were dumbfounded not far away, unwillingly. She said angrily, “What are you guys standing there stupidly for? Quickly come over and help me.”
