Chapter 212: Who are you? (2)

Zhao Shuncheng’s expression changed. He was shocked to realize that he had been threatened by Zhao Youlin. He raised his hand and was about to slap her.

How could Zhao Youlin possibly let him hurt her? The moment Zhao Shuncheng raised his hand, she had already grabbed his hand so that he could not move, much less strike her.

Zhao Shuncheng struggled, yet he could not pull his hand out of Zhao Youlin’s grip. His face turned dark, and he shouted, “Have you been learning all the inappropriate etiquette just to strike me?!”

Zhao Youlin sneered and pushed Zhao Shuncheng to the side skillfully. She patted her hand and said, “I use different tricks when dealing with different people. I don’t have to be polite when dealing with someone like you.”

Zhao Shuncheng was pushed to the side, and he nearly stumbled. As soon as he managed to balance himself, Zhao Youlin heard his next words and nearly vomited blood, “Are you spellbound by my older brother and sister-in-law? Why do you defend them like they are your parents?! You are my daughter! I contributed half of your genes, and I raised you up! Before you married, I provided everything for you. Have they provided anything for you? Why do you turn your back on me?! Great. That’s so great of you!”

Zhao Youlin had never seen someone as shameless as Zhao Shuncheng. As far as she remembered from the memory of the previous owner, this man had not committed to his fatherly responsibilities even once. How could he take it for granted by acting like a father to her now?! She truly could not bear to watch this.

Zhao Youlin drew in a deep breath. She looked up at his annoying face and snorted, “Mr. Zhao, so, today you came here to settle the account with me. Good. Let’s settle the account now.”

“That should be it. We…”

“Shut up! What do you mean by us?!” Since they had decided not to give honor to each other, Zhao Youlin did not have to show mercy to him.

Zhao Shuncheng was taken aback upon hearing her shout. His already dark face turned darker.

Zhao Youlin did not care how he felt. She stood with one of her arms akimbo and snickered, “First, let me correct you, I… never was your daughter. You don’t have the ability to do so. In fact, my mother is the one who gave birth to me. And you, you just contributed one of your sperm to me and that’s all. Other than that, you’ve never done anything for us.”

“Don’t go overboard. No matter what, I am your…”

“You are the one who should stop going so far!” Zhao Youlin shouted and interrupted him. Her face darkened as she approached Zhao Shuncheng, “What did you want to say just now? You’re saying that no matter what, you’re still my father, huh?! I don’t understand, why do you have the guts to say so? How can you say that to me so unapologetically?!”

“Did I say anything wrong?! It’s a fact that I’m your father. You can never deny the fact. This is a fact!” Zhao Shuncheng was so intimidated by Zhao Youlin’s gloomy face that he took a few steps back. He sucked in a cold breath and realized that he had fallen under Zhao Youlin’s pressure. His face darkened. He straightened up and retorted firmly.

Unfortunately, his firmness soon dissipated under Zhao Youlin’s intimidation.

“Indeed, you’re my father. But, where were you when my mother conceived me? You were indulging in carnal pleasure while having a mistress outside! I don’t mind you having a mistress, but you even added two more siblings for me and that’s totally genius!”

Although Zhao Youlin and Zhao Youxi were siblings, their age gap was less than a year. In other words, while Zhao Youlin’s mother was pregnant, Zhao Shuncheng had already hooked up with Li Hongyu or perhaps, he had been doing it even much earlier.

Zhao Shuncheng did not expect Zhao Youlin would bring up the issue at this moment. A trace of guilt flashed across his expression, and he said hesitantly, “Your mother was pregnant, and she can’t… I pity her and so I released the tension outside. This is something forgivable and understandable. I admit I was wrong in this matter. But, are there any men on Earth who don’t have mistresses outside? You and your mother are the same kind, you two just won’t let this matter rest…”

Zhao Youlin sneered, “Forgivable and understandable? How shameless it is for a man to speak like this?! In the end, you even accused us falsely by saying we are the ones who wouldn’t let the matter rest! Why didn’t you think the other way round? You’ve done something that even the gods are angry about! That’s why we’re holding this against you.”

Men were like that. When they committed something wrong, they would not reflect on themselves. Instead, they cracked their heads to come up with various excuses to rationalize their wrongdoings, and they even put the blame on others.

Zhao Youlin no longer wanted to argue with him. She vented out her dissatisfaction, “My mother almost died giving birth to me. At that time, she already had one foot in the grave and where were you?! You purposely bought a house for that woman and kept her as your mistress! When my mother was dying of sickness and the butler called you, what were you doing?! Heh! You brought that woman to a party held by your lousy friends and openly introduced to them without giving the slightest bit of honor to my mother! When the butler managed to reach you, you told him that you couldn’t return home and asked him to look for a doctor, and if that didn’t work, my mother would be left to fend for herself!”

“All these things… How did you…”Zhao Shuncheng’s complexion kept changing. He took two steps back and stared at Zhao Youlin incredulously.

“What?! You wonder why I knew about all this and to such a level of detail, right?!” Zhao Youlin snickered. Her eyes were filled with mockery, “You shouldn’t have done it all if you didn’t want others to know about them. How can others have no knowledge about all the “good things” that you’ve done?! If you’re afraid of letting others know, why did you do them in the first place?!”

In fact, all these were buried somewhere deep inside the original Zhao Youlin’s memory. Zhao Youlin was also surprised at her sudden burst of anger at that moment. She clearly had not been so angry when she deduced all this from the bits and pieces left in the original owner’s memories before this.

Perhaps, the original owner had resented Zhao Shuncheng all the while. However, she was so weak that she could not even protect herself, let alone confront Zhao Shuncheng face to face.

As such, she could only bury her resentment and hatred in her heart, reluctantly. As time passed, even she grew blind by the fact that she had resented and hated him to the marrow of her bone that after she died, it had been passed on to the current Zhao Youlin.

Upon hearing Zhao Youlin’s words, Zhao Shuncheng could not find it in himself to refute her. He felt guilty but most of all, he could not accept the fact that he had been taught a lesson by someone younger than him. His face grew increasingly dark.
