The Biggest Regret
When the village head’s wife saw Chen Wei’er and the man behind her, she immediately became nervous.
“Why are you here…”
Could it be that the residents had offended these two noble people?
“We’re here to talk to the village chief. Is the village chief here?” Chen Wei’er politely replied.
“Yes, he’s home!” The village chief’s wife answered nervously.
As soon as Chen Wei’er and He Xun entered, they saw the village chief half-lying on the chair with blood dripping from his legs.
“What’s going on?” Chen Wei’er was frightened. This was terrifying!
“There were two residents fighting in the village this morning. He went to stop them, but he broke his leg!” The village chief’s wife couldn’t help but wipe her tears.
“Tell me, what’s the matter? He’s not only worn out as a village chief, but he also always has to worry about these trivial things. Look, this time, his leg is like this!”
“Did you go to the hospital?” Chen Wei’er looked at his injured leg. She was shocked.
“We went to the clinic in the village. The doctor claimed there was no more medicine and asked us to get some herbs to apply to it. I have been applying it for half a day, but the bleeding can’t be stopped.” The face of the village chief’s wife looked immensely bitter.
“We have to hurry to the hospital to get an X-ray to see if it’s a fracture! We can’t just leave it like this!” Chen Wei’er was anxious. The village chief had been bleeding for half a day, but he hadn’t gone to the hospital yet!
“The driver is in the village,” He Xun said. “Let the driver send the village chief over.”
“Oh, oh, right. Where’s the nearest hospital? I have a driver. He can send you there.” Chen Wei’er also remembered that she had brought people with her, and they could be of use at this time.
“This is too much trouble for you…” The village chief tried to refuse, but the pain in his leg made it difficult for him to say a few words.
Chen Wei’er looked at his pale face and helplessly said, “We have troubled you a lot by coming here! Hurry up, it’s really dangerous for you to be like this.”
In the end, under Chen Wei’er’s insistence, the village chief was carried into the car by the bodyguards and sent to the nearest hospital.
“It seems that I won’t be able to give an introductory speech for the next few days,” Chen Wei’er said. She felt a little embarrassed.
He Xun consoled her. “There’s still sometime before the school is built. It’ll take at least three months. If you encourage the residents now, they will just forget about it when the school is built. You can only do this step by step. You can slowly build this awareness for everyone. When the time is right, everyone will naturally be able to accept it.” In fact, He Xun had wanted to tell Chen Wei’er this truth from the beginning, but Chen Wei’er had been too enthusiastic about this matter at that time, so he didn’t want to hurt her.
“You’re right. What should I do in the next few days?” Chen Wei’er nodded.
“Didn’t you plan to make a video?” He Xun reminded.
“There’s nothing much to shoot in the village, and I can’t think of any other theme…” Chen Wei’er pouted.
“Perhaps you can treat this trip to the mountains as a vacation,” He Xun said earnestly. “You have to use your own eyes to discover the beauty here.”
“But this village doesn’t look sizable…” Chen Wei’er said after a moment of silence.
“I saw that there were a lot of mountains around. I asked the villagers which ones were safer. We could climb them.” He Xun didn’t come here to participate in the construction of any project.
Designer Su’s words to Chen Wei’er were half from the heart, and the other half was actually flattery. However, Chen Wei’er didn’t understand, and He Xun didn’t want to hurt her.
He Xun’s real purpose was to provide a different scenery for his wife to relieve some of her tension and fatigue. Then, it would be best if she could have a baby.
It was probably because He Xun’s recent dreams had often woken him up that he was beginning to be a bit afraid. He was worried that everything he currently had was an illusion. Therefore, his desire to have a child was stronger than ever.
“But I can’t help but think about building a school. These children… Don’t you think I’m born to worry?” Chen Wei’er sighed. She also felt that she had been a little too tense recently, but she just couldn’t control herself!
“Aren’t you afraid that your exhaustion will badly affect the baby?” As He Xun spoke, he placed his hand on her flat lower abdomen and said, “We haven’t used any protection recently. Maybe a little sprout has already grown here. As his mother, do you want him to be in danger?”
“I don’t want to!” Chen Wei’er blurted out in an instant. As a mother, nothing was more important than her own child. She had experienced the pain of losing her child, and that was her biggest regret.
