Hard to Escape

He was supposed to be the one to protect his sweet girl but in the most dangerous times, it seemed that his student was the one protecting him instead.

President Tan could not shake off the guilty feeling in his chest, but he couldn’t really do anything about it.

For some reason, this group of people seemed to have taken a bunch of stimulants to make them this way. If this continued, Yao Tang wouldn’t be able to hold the fort.

That meant that he and Tan Jian needed to pull themselves together.

At the very least, he must not be a burden.

Tan Jian’s eyes flashed with worry.

This group of people appeared much different than before. If they managed to injure Yao Tang, then what could they do?

Tan Jian swung his rod around with all the effort he could pull.

Whatever may happen, he wouldn’t be a burden to her!

“Surround her! Don’t let her escape!”

Elder Nie grinned when Yao Tang rushed out to President Tan’s side. However, a part of him was also worried that she’d ignore them and want to escape by herself.

The last thing he wanted was for this wench to escape!

Elder Nie gazed at his men swarmed around them.

All of their weapons were pointed toward her.

This time, she wouldn’t be able to escape even if she had wings!

“Everyone, listen to my command!”

It seemed that he could get rid of Yao Tang—finally! His threat would dissipate before his eyes.

“Attack!”

However, the moment he gave his order, the figure immediately disappeared.

It was like Yao Tang’s body has vanished!

Elder Nie furrowed his eyebrows.

She was clearly there just a few moments ago. But now, no matter where he looked, he couldn’t find a single trace of Yao Tang. It was as if he had just witnessed a ghost!

How could she have disappeared?

Where could she have gone?

Elder Nie anxiously glanced from side to side. However, no matter where he looked, he still couldn’t find her! His fingernails dug deep into his palms, drawing blood.

Just the thought of her escaping was enough to fuel the rage in his heart.

“Ah!”

Just then, a scream echoed across the forest and two men fell to the ground.

A slender figure flew right past as she swung her dagger around her.

“You—”

Elder Nie gritted his teeth, his face ashen. “Maybe you shouldn’t have been a cabinet disciple? How dare you hide like a coward?”

He was sputtering.

Just then, another strange phenomenon happened.

Three men fell onto the ground. This time, they didn’t even make a sound.

Elder Nie gasped.

The three men were his trusted aides.

How could Yao Tang have managed to kill them?

He had wanted to train them at first. In time, they would’ve definitely be his right arm in battle, but because of this girl, he now had nothing.

How hateful!

He could already feel his strength depleting. His status would also be affected if they find out about this. No, this can’t happen.

Just then, he felt a blow to his chest and he spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Yao Tang, I won’t rest until I kill you!”

Elder Nie wiped the trail of blood from the corner of his mouth as he shot everyone a glare. “Now, listen up! Go and seize the father and son from the Tan Family. Kill them and avenge our brothers who had been sacrificed for the cause.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd immediately regained their strength.

Everyone turned their heads and ran in President Tan’s direction. Some of them were even using their spiritual power to attack them.

“What do we do?”

Tan Jian froze.

President Tan was also anxious. Just now, when he had seen Yao Tang dealing with these people, he was relieved. What he didn’t expect was for the men to turn against them.

He didn’t want to be a burden to her.

Yet, it seemed that he still was no matter what he’d do.

His jaw clenched.

If something were to happen to Yao Tang because of him, he’d only feel guilty.

What’s the use of being her teacher if he couldn’t teach her anything?

Suddenly, President Tan was gasping for air as he clawed at his throat. His eyes filled with despair.
